• Sing with us
We are always on the lookout for enthusiastic new singing members. Previous singing experience isn't essential and neither is being able to read music (quite a few of us don't) but we perform without music, so a good memory is needed. We learn about fifteen new songs every six months and newly joined members will also have to learn the numbers already in our performing repertory.

    Relaxed and fun
We set ourselves high standards but we're a sociable bunch, with a wide range of ages and backgrounds. Although we're working hard, the atmosphere at our weekly Thursday night rehearsals in Minchinhampton is always convivial and relaxed.

    How we help
There's always plenty of help on hand from fellow choir members and, for practice at home, everyone gets a full set of recordings of their own part in every song.

    What we expect
    Some of our altos
Informal though we are, we do recognise that, in order to maintain a high standard, a degree of commitment from you is essential. Of course members cannot avoid missing rehearsals and concerts from time to time, but you would be expected to sing in our "home concerts", which are held on one weekend in both June (Friday in Minchinhampton, Saturday elsewhere - currently Malmesbury) and December (both evenings in Minchinhampton). We perform six to eight other concerts a year and coach travel is provided to all but the most local venues.

If you're interested email Bruce Salisbury or call him on 07779 413936.
    For good causes
We're proud that raising money for charity, and helping others to do so, is a very important aspect of the Stuart Singers. In our 25 years over £240,000 has been donated to charities and other local good causes, either given away by us from money raised at our own concerts, or donated by the organisers of concerts we have given.

    More than singing
Singers are a friendly people and the choir has an active social life. We have a well-supported Annual Dinner and each year we usually organise a couple of informal, fun social events, Most years we also enjoy a weekend tour to sing a couple of concerts away from Gloucestershire.

    What will it cost?
Membership of the Stuart Singers currently costs a very reasonable £35 a year.
